CITEL facilitates Educator Exchanges with many countries around the world. Exchange opportunities exist for classroom teachers and administrators in a K-12 school or Community College. Educators from states other than Colorado may apply.
Exciting Teacher Exchange Opportunities were announced this week by the Colorado International Teachers’ Exchange League.
Applications to exchange teach in Canada for the 2016-17 school year and to exchange teach in Australia for the 2017 calendar year will be available by the end of June. These full-year direct exchanges involve trading jobs and housing for a full year with a teacher from another country.
Minimum qualifications: 4 1/2 years of teaching experience, 3 years in the current school district (be non-probationary), 3 years since a previous exchange, hold a Colorado educator license, and obtain district/school approval. Families go along. State Commissioner of Education, Robert Hammond, and the State Board of Education endorse this program as an excellent staff development opportunity.
