Are you interested in trading your job and housing with a teacher from Australia for that calendar year? Teachers from Colorado and other states are invited to apply for a one-year exchange with educators in several Australian states. Educators from both public and private schools are eligible. Exchange teaching offers new approaches to current issues in the classroom and educational community. This is an excellent opportunity for professional development as an educator. Colorado State legislation authorizes and urges districts to effect exchanges.
To qualify for an exchange, you must have the following qualifications:
- Be a US citizen
- 4 1/2 years of teaching/professional experience by December 2021
- Be non-probationary in your current school district
- Have completed three years since your last exchange
- Hold a state educator license
- Obtain principal and district approval
